A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling error. The negative aspect of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It is also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you’ve got a shared hosting with us and you’d like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific e-mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally just a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all functionality can be activated without effort if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in your account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a mini sign handily situated directly next to each one of them. With just one single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this option through the contextual menu that will surface. If any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
